Tom Ford’s designs are timeless. And at long last, the fashion icon is launching a line of watches to join his empire of ready to wear, sunglasses, fragrance, handbags, and makeup. The sophisticated Swiss-made timepieces, which WWD reports Ford debuted at his men’s show in February, will soon be available on tomford.com as the Tom Ford 001 Collection. They are a partnership with Bedrock Manufacturing Company, which also produces Shinola and Filson, both of which are known for their American leather craftsmanship.
As for whether the 001 will soon have siblings? “It is the Tom Ford watch,” he told WWD. “This watch has given me the vocabulary to now do another one, but it isn’t like I’m going to have 50 watches. I may ultimately have five models…I’m very excited about it because it’s a very simple concept that no one has ever done, and is, as far as I can tell, nowhere in the market.”
Depending on your trimmings, the luxury watches range anywhere between $2190 to $10,100, but the possibilities are endless.
The designs feature rectangular watch faces in four finishes: yellow gold and brushed, polished, and matte stainless steel. And the straps, which come in four materials (braided leather, calf leather, pebble leather, and alligator) and a host of colors, are easily interchangeable–making it no sweat to match your mood or your look (a design feature that was important to Ford).
